Students, staff and supporters from South Bank Colleges recently came together for the Walk for Clare Hanrahan, a special fundraising event held in memory of a much loved colleague and teacher.

Clare Hanrahan dedicated more than 20 years to teaching within the College's ESOL provision, making a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. Following her sudden passing, the College community united to celebrate her life while supporting a cause that was close to her heart.
Taking place around Clapham Common, the sponsored walk welcomed participants throughout the day, with staff, students and supporters completing circuits of the route in Clare's memory. The walk passed the tree planted by ESOL colleagues as a lasting tribute to Clare and her contribution to the College community.
Funds raised from the event will support the North Staffs Asperger Autism Association, a charity that provides vital support, advice and guidance to individuals with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, as well as their families and carers. The organisation was particularly important to Clare, making it a fitting beneficiary for the event.
The day was filled with reflection, remembrance and community spirit, as participants shared memories, supported one another and honoured Clare's legacy. Whether completing a single circuit or walking for several hours, everyone involved contributed to a meaningful tribute that reflected the kindness, dedication and positive impact Clare brought to those around her.
South Bank Colleges would like to thank everyone who took part, donated or supported the event. The generosity and commitment shown throughout the day demonstrated the strength of the College community and ensured that Clare's memory continues to inspire others.
Through events such as the Walk for Clare Hanrahan, the College community not only remembers a valued colleague but also helps make a positive difference to the lives of others.
