London South Bank Technical College proudly hosted the SoPHE PCE YEN Annual Plumbing Competition, welcoming young engineers and college learners for a full day of practical challenge, collaboration and skills development.

Organised by the Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE), the event brought together participants from across the sector to support the development of future plumbing professionals. The competition is designed to strengthen the transition between domestic and commercial plumbing systems, giving learners the opportunity to apply their knowledge in realistic industry settings.
As a designated Clean Energy Technical Excellence College, London South Bank Technical College provided an ideal environment for the event, showcasing its specialist facilities and commitment to supporting skills for a low carbon future.
Throughout the day, competitors took part in a series of structured activities focused on plumbing problem solving, technical practical skills and fault finding across live installations. Working individually and alongside peers, participants demonstrated technical understanding, adaptability and professionalism under timed conditions.

The event created a valuable space for collaboration between industry professionals and students, highlighting the importance of practical learning in preparing for careers within the plumbing and building services engineering sector.
Winners from the competition will be recognised at the 22nd Annual SoPHE London Dinner in November 2026, celebrating their achievement and contribution to the field.
