Collaboration and the sharing of best practice are vital to ensuring colleges continue to deliver outstanding experiences for learners. Recently, South Bank Colleges' Elaine Smith visited the Bromley campus of London South East Colleges (LSEC) to explore approaches to student engagement, enrichment and personal development.

The visit was made possible through connections established during the Association of Colleges Senior Leadership Programme, highlighting the long term value of professional networks and leadership development opportunities across the further education sector.

During the visit, colleagues discussed strategic approaches to enhancing the student experience and explored how colleges can continue to evolve their provision to meet the needs of learners. Conversations focused on student engagement, personal development opportunities and the role that enrichment activities can play in supporting student success both inside and outside the classroom.

The visit also provided an opportunity to learn more about LSEC's enrichment framework and consider how innovative approaches can help strengthen and evidence the wider student experience. Sharing ideas and exploring different models of delivery allows colleges to reflect on their own practice and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

In addition to professional discussions, the visit included a tour of the Bromley campus, offering insight into the facilities, learning environments and student spaces that contribute to a positive college experience.

Partnership working across the further education sector remains an important driver of innovation and improvement.
