Students at South Bank Colleges recently took part in an engaging session exploring careers in biomedical science as part of National Careers Week.

Delivered by biomedical science professional Aida Noor, the session introduced T Level students to the different pathways into the field and offered insight into what a career in biomedical science can involve, including laboratory work, medical research, and the role scientists play in healthcare and innovation.

Students were also invited to take part in an interactive activity using Mentimeter, where they shared their thoughts on what biomedical science means to them. The responses reflected strong interest in areas such as laboratory research and medicine, while also prompting questions about gaining experience and entering the profession.

Sessions like this help students connect their studies with real world careers, giving them the opportunity to hear directly from professionals and explore potential future pathways.

South Bank Colleges would like to thank Aida Noor for sharing her expertise and Donna Webster for organising the session and supporting students as they explore their future career options.

National Careers Week highlights the importance of helping students understand the many opportunities available to them and inspiring the next generation of professionals across sectors such as science, healthcare, and research.
