If you would like to prepare for a career supporting adults and develop a detailed understanding of good social care practice, this course could be for you.
The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care is suitable if you are new to the sector, returning to work, changing career or looking to build on previous health and social care study.
You will explore the responsibilities of adult social care workers and the principles that underpin safe, respectful and person-centred support.
The course covers communication, safeguarding, equality and inclusion, duty of care, health and safety, personal development and the secure handling of information.
This is a knowledge-based qualification, so you do not need to be employed in adult social care or complete a work placement.

What do you need to apply?
You should be aged 16 or over.
There are no specific previous qualifications required. However, you may find it helpful to have completed the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care or another related Level 2 qualification.
As this is a Level 3 course, you should be prepared to carry out independent research, read detailed information and produce written work that demonstrates your knowledge and understanding.
You should have an interest in adult social care and be prepared to discuss sensitive subjects in a respectful and non-judgemental way.
Entry onto the course is subject to the college’s assessment of your suitability for Level 3 study.

Your work will be assessed by your tutor or assessor and quality assured in line with NCFE requirements.

There is no required work placement, as this is a knowledge-based qualification.
