The NCFE CACHE Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings will introduce you to the different services, careers and responsibilities found across these sectors.
The course is suitable if you are returning to education, considering a change of career or would like to explore your options before progressing to a higher-level qualification.
You will learn about the values that underpin good care and support, including dignity, respect, equality, safeguarding and person-centred practice.
This is a knowledge-based qualification, so you do not need to be working in the sector or complete a work placement.

What do you need to apply?
You do not need any formal previous qualifications to apply for this course.
You should have an interest in health, social care, childcare or working with children and young people.
You should also be willing to take part in classroom activities, discussions and group work and complete written tasks as part of your assessment.
Entry onto the course is subject to the college’s assessment of your suitability for Level 1 study.

You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor throughout the course using a range of methods.
