What experience and skills will you gain?
The course offers students a broad introduction to the forensic science and professional laboratory science via mandatory units, while allowing for the acquisition of specialist skills and experience through specialist forensic science modules. What do you need to apply?
Level 4 entry requirements: GCSE Grades 9-4 in English, Maths and Science. A minimum of 64 UCAS points from any Level 3 qualification (i.e. A Levels, BTECs or T Levels). Your qualifications must be related to the relevant Level 4 course.

How will you be assessed?
A Level 4 HNC in Forensic Science (Adults) is assessed mainly through coursework rather than exams, with students completing a range of practical assignments, written reports, case studies, presentations, and laboratory-based assessments that reflect real forensic science practice. Assessment focuses on applying scientific theory to forensic contexts, demonstrating analytical thinking, accurate laboratory techniques, proper evidence handling, and clear professional reporting. All units must be passed to achieve the qualification, and assessment is designed to suit adult learners by emphasising practical skills and work-related understanding.
